Dave takes you through everything you need to know to do good quality soldering. Part 1 is all about the tools you might need. A lot of this was already covered in my general lab tools video.

We’ll travel to NASA’s tool lab and see the equipment we need to build in this challenging environment, from high tech wrenches and hammers Read more: channel.nationalgeographic.com
Hello, I struggle to find the Hakko FX-888 in Europe, do you have any place where I can order it? Thanks for the vid, very helpful!
Great video series watched both vids, So I have to get a special tip for lead free solder? I’m having trouble searching for special lead free tips that are compatible with the same Iron you use the Fx 888 would you happen to know where I might be able to get a T18 style tip designed for lead free use? Thanks!
@EEVblog Many thanks! Your instructional videos are great, and I do a ton of soldering. The lamp is Jaycar QM3532 – I appreciate the lead
at 16:50 63/39 there’s 102% solder? O.o
@mahela1993 Only the Yanks say “soddering”. They are wrong!
@DeeSwizzle No idea. Jaycar in Australia.
Where do you buy in the US that very nice gooseneck mag glass with light at ~7:07 ???
@EEVblog do you think they are a good quality brand?
@hyper080 What about Electus? They are Jaycar’s wholesale division.
@EEVblog what about Electus
Would you recomend weller wd1002
@mahela1993 Americans usually treat the L as a silent letter because it’s kind of awkward to say, and people in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia will say solder with the L.
@panchopancho321 Kester is a good brand, you can usually get a 1 pound spool for around $30
This was extremely informative. Thank you very much for uploading this. I subscribed. I am getting into soldering thru a cold joint on my gauge cluster in my Mustang. Hopefully a touch with the iron and a touch of solder will do.
hey dave what you think about this product?
Kester Wire Solder, Sn60/Pb40 Alloy, .031″ Dia., #44 Rosin Flux, #66 Core Size, 1-lb. Roll
really hard and expensive to get multicore brand any other recommendation for solder here in usa?
and thank you for the video i finally decide for hakko brand
I liked your Soldering Tutorial you make Soldering sound so easy. thats why i became a subscriber
@mantaz111 I’m also looking, here in portugal they sell it.. (156eur or 212usd). I guess the cheap way to get it is to buy a 120v then use a stepdown transformer. Or replace the transformer inside the unit , but i dont have the knowledge to do it .
@worldzfree eevblog dot com slash amazon
my firefox doest open the page but chrome does.
Is it pronounced as “soaldering” or “soddering”?
will rosin core solder work?
@lodevijk I’ve read lead-free is more poisonous. The smoke it produces when melting.
Great information, thanks for making this video!
IMHO, you may want to avoid using fingerprint readers for hi security authentication from now on (17:50)
@cosmindonea Atten is not a bad brand and very popular in china. Goot, Antex are some of not that popular yet good quality brands. PACE, ERSA, METCAL…………. You can buy them if you sell your car
you can make a dildo company with this! just print your penis. Win!
1. Buy a 3D printer
2. Make millions of copies of yourself
4. Train all your clones efficiently to fight
5. Take over the world
6. ???
7. Profit!
I Know this can replicate things, but does this type of 3D printer have the ability to say replicate a computer processor, and have it actually work?
@Naeddyr They made a video to explain that.
will be very useful to the Chinese =P
@nkanyisoish Print your mom.
he sounds like cleveland
Print me a 3d printer!!
but if you loose it how you can print it without scanning it, you have to scan all them tools .LOL
if you lose a tool in space, you can print it.
2 years later Houston, we have a problem. we lost a tool.
Houston: go print it
Astronaut: How the F… can I scan it. It already lost!!

Fascinating. Can they do it with women? Can they do it with Amber Heard?
@jockeleu it was a joke, not meant to be insulting or anything, I appologize if my message distressed you. I just love everything space, and watch a lot about it, I dont claim to be an expert in the subject
@Alex13N Man, who the hell has been watching disney too much? You make it sound like u spend ur weekends in space…
@WCG86 youve watched too much Disney my friend, things dont randomly float just by being in space, it needs movement, and the powder can be kept in place by a stream of air

@prana888 The computer saves the scan, the data, so you just print another one. Use your head.
@prana888 I’d assume that it would work just like emailing a document: Just send the file up to the ship and let them print it out on board. Not really a hard concept.
Could you print a real 3D human hand or any human body part????
@prana888 scan all the tools before you start the trip
when u need some tools, just print it.
is it work?
@prana888 scan all the tool at the preparation ,then save it.

is it work?
@haloman123123 it was opinion at that point of time and it may have not come across my mind about keeping a database of the equipment. learn to show respect.
@prana888 No offense but u should really delete this comment its kinda making you look stupid :/
